About the position

The Workforce Development Specialist (Corporate Trainer) at Colorado Springs Utilities is responsible for coordinating and delivering enterprise-wide learning curricula to employees. This role involves managing learning projects from inception to completion, including communication, instructional design collaboration, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of training programs. The specialist will utilize various training methods and tools to enhance adult learning and assess the effectiveness of training initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver enterprise-wide learning curricula to employees.
  • Manage learning projects from beginning to end, including communication and coordination with instructional design.
  • Deliver training using various methods such as classroom, e-learning, virtual, and blended learning.
  • Facilitate team-building courses and active training techniques like role-playing and simulations.
  • Assess the needs of internal customers and differentiate performance issues from learning needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning through assessments and performance metrics.
  • Provide feedback to learners and internal stakeholders.
  • Recommend and implement changes to learning programs as necessary.

Requirements

  • Relevant training/facilitation experience in a corporate learning environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Leadership/Management, Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) or Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification is valued.
  • Knowledge of learning design, improving human performance, delivering training, and performance consultation.
  • Experience applying adult learning theories and conducting needs analysis.
