About the position

As a Workforce Management Manager, you will effectively distribute work volume and scheduling assignments across the scheduling team, ensuring that each scheduler has appropriate knowledge of operational criteria for assigned departments. You will ensure 24 x 7 coverage of the scheduling function, to include processing of paid time-off and other absences. You will develop and implement standard operating procedures and set effective performance standards for the scheduling team to ensure weekly communication with leaders who have dynamic schedules to stay abreast of changing business and staffing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively distributes work volume and scheduling assignments across the scheduling team.
  • Ensures 24 x 7 coverage of the scheduling function, including processing of paid time-off and other absences.
  • Develops and implements standard operating procedures and sets effective performance standards for the scheduling team.
  • Ensures each scheduler maintains a consistent weekly process for reviewing team schedules with each leader.
  • Suggests schedule changes, optimization, and formulates recommendations for scheduling efficiencies.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on Virtual Roster software.
  • Regularly reviews audit reports and dashboards for all department schedules.
  • Conducts periodic leader outreach to ensure satisfaction with scheduling services provided.
  • Works closely with HR systems and IT to review Virtual Roster releases and updates.
  • Works collaboratively with all department leaders and support departments to optimize scheduling workflows.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, with at least 2 as a direct supervisor/manager.
  • At least 2 years' experience leading a centralized scheduling function in a large, dynamic organization.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to promote and manage change positively.
  • Proficiency with PC operations and web-based platforms.
  • Previous experience with scheduling software, preferably Virtual Roster.
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to identify trends and audit and synthesize data.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 10 lbs.
