About the position

The Workforce Manager- Operations at Metropolitan Community College is responsible for managing and coordinating various functional areas and services within the Workforce & Economic Development division. This role involves overseeing budget and fiscal activities, developing operational strategies for recruitment and enrollment, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies. The position requires strong leadership skills to supervise staff, manage multiple projects, and maintain relationships with various stakeholders in the community and industry.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff, including prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, and coordinating training.
  • Develop and oversee recruitment and enrollment operational strategies for Workforce & Economic Development programs.
  • Review and approve budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with financial controls.
  • Coordinate with state and local organizations, serving as a liaison for assigned programs.
  • Prepare and maintain proposals, contracts, reports, and documentation to facilitate departmental operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Public Administration, Business, Industrial Management, Education, or a related field.
  • 4 years of sales/client management or related experience.
  • Experience in Accounting, Finance, or related areas is preferred.
  • Experience in Outreach, Marketing, or related areas is preferred.
  • Experience managing diverse functional teams and multiple ongoing projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree with related experience preferred.
  • Evidence of excellent customer service experience.
