About the position

The Working Foreman for Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical at Granite Shore Power is responsible for supervising the maintenance and repair activities of the Instrumentation, Controls & Electrician Team. This role involves overseeing the inspection, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal of electronic and electrical equipment in the power plant, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while maintaining operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and perform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems, including emergency backup systems.
  • Maintain complete equipment files, logs, and drawings for all designated equipment.
  • Coordinate the administrative maintenance of plant procedures, operating manuals, technical references, and preventive/predictive maintenance records.
  • Ensure contractor/outside technicians are performing in-plant electrical and control system repairs/upgrades.
  • Supervise employees who inspect, repair, install, and remove all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, and communication systems.
  • Oversee and conduct troubleshooting and analysis on DCS, PLC, and turbine control equipment.
  • Responsible for all plant instrumentation and electrical test equipment.
  • Support and participate in Environmental, Safety, and Regulatory Compliance Programs.
  • Perform all tasks qualified to perform due to knowledge, experience, training, or license held.
  • Assist in training other Technicians as needed.

Requirements

  • 5 years of IC&E experience required.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Proficient with operating and maintaining power plant equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering prints and electrical/control schematics.
  • Must be able to operate on high energy electrical equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft systems such as Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to assess situations for safety and equipment hazards.
  • Ability to calmly respond to emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with others.
