About the position

The Behavior Interventionist position involves working with children and teenagers to implement treatment plans designed by behavior analysts and case managers. The role focuses on behavior reduction and skill acquisition programs, providing support in the home environment of clients with developmental disabilities. The position is part-time and requires flexibility in scheduling, particularly in the afternoons and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist behavior analysts and case managers in implementing treatment plans.
• Model and prompt activities to train self-care practices.
• Promote social skills and social interaction through conversation with individuals.
• Accompany families on community outings.
• Observe and document behaviors to facilitate assessment and development of treatment goals.
• Maintain strict confidentiality while working in various home environments.
• Attend training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
• Provide services based on ABA principles, including behavior management and caregiver education.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's or associate degree in behavioral health or related field preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with children and teenagers.
• Strong interpersonal communication and active listening skills.
