About the position

The Workshop Fleet Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all vehicle fleet operations at the Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles (PECLA). This includes managing a fleet of 90 vehicles, coordinating workshop operations, and ensuring vehicle logistics and detailing are executed to high standards. The role requires collaboration with internal Porsche resources and vendor teams to maintain a well-functioning fleet, manage workshop technicians, and handle parts inventory and warranty claims.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all PEC fleet maintenance operations, reporting to the Manager, PEC Business Operations
  • Liaise with Porsche Service Centers for offsite vehicle repairs
  • Ensure vehicles are repaired properly and on time for all PEC fleet used for track activities
  • Accurately document all necessary repairs and retirements using the approved Dealer Management system
  • Manage parts inventory in Porsche systems (SAP and PBS/Tekion)
  • Provide complete and accurate written cost estimates for labor and parts with established time of completion
  • Maintain all service records for PEC fleet
  • Ensure correct level of parts stock required for fleet maintenance
  • Ensure all work is carried out to Porsche quality standards, policies and procedures
  • Facilitate orientation of new team members in collaboration with the Manager, PEC Business Operations
  • Maintain good relationships with other stakeholders
  • Manage proper maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in the Workshop
  • Facilitate training and development of team members by providing feedback and coaching
  • Ensure product training via the Porsche Academy takes place when required for PEC fleet technicians
  • Evaluate the impact of possible work delays and develop appropriate course of actions
  • Assist Manager, PEC Business Operations with special reports or work as needed
  • Oversight of all PEC Workshop service orders to ensure all work is completed correctly and timely
  • Review RO's to ensure all actions have been documented according to Workshop policies and procedures
  • Management of all parts related operations
  • Management of warranty, processing recalls, service campaigns and warranty repair claims
  • Ensure PEC Workshop meets all government environmental and safety standards
  • Ensure and monitor new customer delivery PDIs are scheduled and inspected to the highest standard
  • Ensure new vehicles are being detailed to high quality standard
  • Serve as main contact for all PEC fleet needs
  • Coordinate with the PEC Vehicle Logistics Manager to ensure synergy and alignment of maintenance schedule
  • Effectively communicate with the PEC Vehicle Logistics Manager to monitor and report on fleet vehicle status
  • Oversight of the vendor-team responsible for all PEC fleet logistics and scheduling
  • Fleet tracking from ordering to on-site use to retirement using Porsche systems
  • Work approximately one weekend per month on a rotational basis as manager on duty
  • Ensure compliance with Information technology security policies at Porsche Cars North America
  • Safeguard competitive information in both electronic and non-electronic formats
  • Conduct all business with integrity and maintain the highest service standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business / Engineering or Technical School Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years working experience in the automotive industry preferably in After-Sales / Fixed Operations
  • Significant experience with, knowledge of, and exposure to the Porsche Brand preferred
  • Previous service experience in Porsche dealership preferred
  • Service Writer/Advisor experience at a dealership for luxury car/VW family brand preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects
  • Strong analytical skills and leadership skills
  • Highly organized, target-oriented mindset, works well without close supervision
  • Ability to set and meet challenging deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to operate both standard and automatic vehicles
  • General computer experience (Microsoft Office, Outlook and Teams; Database software)
