About the position

The Workstation Analyst / IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of end-user computing devices within the organization. This position involves reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating various devices such as PCs, thin clients, printers, scanners, and other peripherals. The analyst is expected to have a solid understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures related to the installation, configuration, and repair of these devices. The role is primarily guided by established instructions and guidelines, and the analyst will work under immediate supervision to perform their duties effectively. In addition to technical skills, the Workstation Analyst must adhere to strict compliance with HIPAA standards when handling Protected Health Information (PHI) or other sensitive patient data. This includes maintaining confidentiality and following the “Need-to-Know” principle during all computer, network, and user security investigations. The analyst will be part of the Information Technology Team, contributing to the overall security and efficiency of the organization’s IT infrastructure. The position requires a strong commitment to customer service, as the analyst will frequently interact with both technical and business experts. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role. The analyst must also possess good analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and visualize long-term IT needs is critical for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and evaluate end user computing devices including PCs, thin clients, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and repair end user devices following established guidelines and instructions.
  • Comply with HIPAA standards when dealing with PHI or other patient data.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the 'Need-to-Know' principle during security investigations.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of problem resolution.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • CompTIA Fundamentals certification within 1 year of hire is preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows operating systems.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Dedicated commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects effectively.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is expected.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three years of IT support experience preferred.
