About the position

The WW Industrial Engineer for DC Operations at Apple plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain by optimizing distribution center layouts, processes, and technologies. This position focuses on improving customer engagement and product sales through strategic inventory management and fulfillment solutions, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and implement operational improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and validate distribution center layout to meet KPIs for labor, throughput, and lead times.
  • Develop, own, and communicate the DC IE KPIs and project roadmap at multiple 3PLs to senior leadership.
  • Choose, design, and validate warehouse automation using data-driven approaches.
  • Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) partners to drive process and design optimizations.
  • Validate new automation and operational equipment to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Set up benchmarking metrics for distribution centers across US, APAC, and Europe.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Typically 3 or more years of Warehouse or Supply Chain experience.
  • Experience with predetermined time standards such as MODAPTS, MOST, or MTM.
  • Modeling and evaluating discrete process simulations.
  • Experience with Design for Logistics operations including assembly/manufacturing.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with 3D factory modeling and visualization software (Factory CAD, Line Designer, Factory Design Suite).
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain, logistics, and eCommerce operations, ideally in an Apple context.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in an unstructured environment.
