About the position

The Worship Production Manager (Sound and Audio Technician) is responsible for ensuring high-quality sound and audio for church services, choir performances, and online streaming. This role involves technical expertise in sound equipment, collaboration with church staff, and maintaining audio quality during worship events.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct sound checks before services to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Set up and test microphones, speakers, and audio equipment.
  • Operate soundboard and mixing console to achieve optimal sound quality.
  • Monitor and adjust audio levels, EQ, and compression.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues promptly.
  • Set up and operate streaming equipment for online services.
  • Record and edit sermons and special events.
  • Perform routine maintenance on audio equipment.
  • Research and recommend upgrades or new equipment.
  • Work closely with the Worship Pastor, musicians, and other technicians.
  • Communicate effectively with volunteers and staff.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in soundboard operation (e.g., Allen & Heath, Yamaha).
  • Knowledge of audio software (e.g., Ableton, Pro Tools).
  • Familiarity with streaming platforms (e.g., YouTube, Facebook).
  • 2+ years of experience in sound and audio technician roles.
  • Church or live event sound experience preferred.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork.
