About the position

The Wound and Ostomy Care RN (WOCRN) will serve as a consultant to physicians, advanced providers, and nursing staff, providing direct patient care and education for patients with complex wounds and ostomy needs. The role involves collaboration with the Wound Healing Center and the medical and nursing staff to develop educational materials and standards of care related to wound and ostomy management.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a clinical expert in providing care and consultation directly to wound and ostomy patients.
  • Serve as a Wound and Ostomy clinical resource for medical and nursing staff.
  • Document plan of care and recommendations.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding wound and ostomy care.
  • Function as a member of the Wound Healing Center.

Requirements

  • Four years of formal training or education beyond high school (e.g., Bachelor's Degree).
  • Completion of Wound and Ostomy course work and clinical hours.
  • WOCN certification required within 3 years.
  • Valid State of New Hampshire Board of Nursing Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a wound and ostomy nurse.
