About the position

Clovis Healthcare and Rehab is seeking a dedicated Wound Care Nurse/Unit Manager to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is pivotal in leading and integrating a comprehensive Skin Health and Wound Management program within our nursing center. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with nursing center management to ensure the highest standards of care for our patients, focusing on skin health and wound care. As a Wound Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical aspects of wound management, including the use of durable medical equipment and the provision of skin, wound, and incontinent products. You will also serve as a clinical expert, supporting the central supply team in maintaining the necessary resources for effective wound care. Responsibilities

  • Lead and integrate a fully developed Skin Health and Wound management program in collaboration with nursing center management.
  • Support central supply serving as the clinical expert for skin, wound, and incontinent products.
  • Oversee durable medical equipment related to the prevention and management of wounds.

Requirements

  • Must possess a RN license (MPT/DPT with leadership review/approval).
  • Must complete Skin Health Team Lead orientation training and Wound Basics within 90 days of hire.
  • Commitment to attend monthly support calls is required.
  • Must have national accredited wound certification (CWS, CWCN, WCC, CWON, WOC, AWCC) or be committed to complete Advanced Wound Training and national accredited Wound Certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Knowledge and experience with clinical charting, incident reporting and investigation response is required.
  • Must have a strong knowledge base of acceptable standards of care for nurses, providers, therapists, dietitians, and others on the nursing center team.
  • Experience in team building and demonstrating respect for the interprofessional team in wound management is required.
  • Must have knowledge of national wound guidelines and wound products.
  • Knowledge of nursing home regulations and survey process is required.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Database Management, PowerPoint skills are required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a nursing center or similar healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
