About the position
As a mobile Wound Care Nurse LPN at Smart Choice Medical Services LLC, you will play a vital role in assessing, treating, and preventing various types of wounds. This position requires specialized training to manage ostomies and continence care, focusing on complex patient wounds such as ulcers, burns, pressure injuries, diabetic foot wounds, and skin tears. You will be responsible for providing care in patients' homes and clinics, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess different types of wounds and their healing stages.
- Implement appropriate wound care strategies to promote faster healing and minimize complications.
- Educate patients and their families on proper wound management techniques.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nurse practitioners, physicians, and therapists.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
- Passing the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) to obtain LPN licensure.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Clean Driving Record.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience as an LPN, especially in areas related to wound care or home health.
- Familiarity with wound assessment, dressing changes, and wound healing stages.
- Strong assessment skills to evaluate wound status, healing progress, and signs of infection.
- Knowledge of various wound types (pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, etc.).
