About the position

The Wound Care Nurse at Healogics is responsible for providing patient care in the Wound Care Center, handling intake and discharge processes, and may serve as a Case Manager for assigned patients. This role involves performing nursing assessments, collaborating with healthcare providers, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The nurse will also be involved in hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties and must adhere to all relevant policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care to Wound Care Center patients and handles patient intake and discharge processes as assigned.
  • Assists in vein clinic as assigned after completing Healogics Vein Clinic training.
  • Serves as Case Manager to a group of patients, performing initial nursing assessments and documenting care plans.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and provides education to patients or caregivers.
  • Performs hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) related duties as assigned after completing the required training.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare providers regarding clinic and patient needs.
  • May function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Healogics policy.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current RN license in the state of practice
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Medical Surgical, Home Health or Wound Care Certification preferred
  • Wound care experience preferred
  • Demonstrated competency in BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory/accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills
  • Customer service and follow-up skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Teaching skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of computerized nursing systems
