About the position
Whispering Hills Care Center is seeking a compassionate and professional Wound Care Nurse to work in coordination with the Director of Nursing (DON) to support the nursing department functions of our rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the facility's goal of becoming a premier care provider.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance of all nursing personnel with established standards, practices, and regulatory requirements for high-quality resident care.
- Support the development and implementation of nursing department budgets in coordination with facility administration.
- Implement compliance and quality improvement policies, programs, and procedures.
- Responsible for surveillance, rounding, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting healthcare-associated infections.
- Support the development of evidence-based organizational infection prevention policies/standards that meet state, federal, regulatory, and accrediting agencies' standards.
- Lead in infection prevention and serve as a resource, educator, researcher, and proponent of change to influence infection prevention improvement.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively deal with patients, families, physicians, community resources, and the general public.
- Associate degree in Nursing or higher from an accredited school of nursing.
- Valid Ohio Nursing license.
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Wound Nurse preferred; Unit Manager/Nursing Supervisor in Long Term Care experience may be considered.
