About the position

The Wound Care Outpatient Nurse Practitioner will work in a dedicated outpatient wound care clinic in Scottsboro, AL, focusing on providing advanced wound care treatments and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This role is primarily procedure-based, with a structured schedule of Monday to Friday, ensuring no nights or weekends are required. The position offers opportunities for professional growth and leadership within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients.
• Manage and prevent infections related to wounds.
• Perform wound cleaning and dressing changes.
• Conduct cellulitis therapy and compression therapy.
• Collaborate with a full team including case managers and nurses to ensure effective patient care.
• Average 15-20 patient encounters per day, primarily focused on wound care.

Requirements

• Valid AL State Nurse Practitioner license.
• DEA License required.
• Minimum of 1 year of Nurse Practitioner experience.
• Experience with procedures such as simple sutures and incision & drainage (I&D).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in outpatient wound care settings.
• Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically EPIC/IHEAL.
