About the position
The Wound Care RN at Mark Twain Medical Center is responsible for coordinating, planning, implementing, and developing nursing care plans specifically for skin and wound management. This role involves direct patient care, education for patients and their families, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and continuity of care. The position emphasizes the importance of adhering to established policies and procedures while fulfilling the organization's mission and core values.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessment and reassessment, including obtaining patient history and conducting physical assessments.
- Provide direct patient care and assist physicians/APPs with procedures as necessary.
- Assess patient's learning needs and provide education as needed.
- Complete documentation accurately and timely, both electronically and in writing.
Requirements
- 1 year of previous experience in Wound Care or physician office.
- Current RN license in California (RN:CA); BLS-CPR certification; Wound Care Certification (WCC).
- Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications.
Nice-to-haves
- 2 years of previous experience in Wound Care and Clinical Office experience preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
