About the position

The Wound Supervisor RN at Intermountain Health is responsible for overseeing clinical and leadership functions within the Wound Care/Ostomy and Hyperbaric department. This role involves managing daily operations, coordinating patient care, and implementing evidence-based clinical guidelines to ensure quality patient outcomes. The Supervisor promotes effective communication within the healthcare team and enforces policies to maintain high standards of care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Wound Care/Ostomy and Hyperbaric department.
  • Coordinate patient care and ensure adherence to clinical guidelines.
  • Manage patient complaints and concerns promptly.
  • Facilitate communication between inpatient and outpatient teams.
  • Ensure cost-effective staffing and appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop treatment protocols.
  • Participate in community outreach and preventative services.
  • Assist in data gathering, planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
  • Conduct human resource activities including interviewing and coaching staff.
  • Complete performance audits in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Current RN License upon hire
  • Current BLS certification upon hire
  • Current wound certification upon hire or within 1 year of hire
  • Current Ostomy certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in acute medical surgical nursing (preferred)

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous high volume clinic experience in an outpatient setting
