The WRRF Operations Technician I position is an entry-level, safety-sensitive role located at the wastewater treatment facility in Bentonville, Arkansas. This position requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and safe vehicle operational skills. The technician will work under direct supervision and must adhere to all safety policies and procedures while performing essential activities related to the operation and maintenance of equipment and buildings at the facility. The role involves shift work, and the technician must demonstrate excellent attendance and the ability to work harmoniously with the public, supervisors, and co-workers. In this role, the technician will be responsible for understanding and following both oral and written instructions, as well as communicating clearly and concisely. The technician will gain knowledge of wastewater treatment operations, including government regulations and discharge permit requirements. Responsibilities include the proper collection of water samples, conducting basic analytical wastewater analysis, and data entry for regulatory and in-house reporting. The technician will monitor plant equipment, gauges, meters, and dials, assisting in basic maintenance and equipment operation to ensure compliance with permits. Additionally, the technician will maintain the plant buildings, grounds, and vehicles for the department. The position requires the ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, and may involve periodic standby status for emergencies.
