About the position
The WSI Swim Instructor position at Westboro Tennis & Swim Club (WTSC) involves teaching swimming techniques and water safety to children and adults of all ages. The role focuses on evaluating student performance, providing feedback, and ensuring adherence to water safety rules. Successful candidates will demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and effective communication skills to motivate students in achieving their swimming goals.
Responsibilities
- Teach swimming techniques, strokes, and water safety rules to students of varying abilities.
- Plan lessons considering students' abilities and progressive development, organizing class time for maximum practice.
- Assist more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities.
- Assess the progress of students and adjust teaching programs accordingly.
- Identify incorrect swimming techniques and provide corrective feedback.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a swim instructor or lifeguard (Preferred).
- Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification (Preferred).
- Sound knowledge of proper swimming techniques and water safety rules (Preferred).
- Strong swimming abilities.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Passionate and enthusiastic.
