Children First's STEM Plus program provides STEM activities and career days during school and out-of-school times to Title I funded schools to increase student's knowledge about higher paying careers, and a fresh food program to teach growing, harvesting, eating, and preserving fresh food with its benefits and providing student-led farm stands to teach entrepreneurship skills. This program is part of Children First: CEO Kansas Inc., a 501(c)(3) social service non-profit organization in Wichita, Kansas with a mission to support students. We help kids to feel safe and empowered, so they can learn and thrive by staying in school and achieving in life. Specifically, Children First empowers student health and success through two programs: experiential learning opportunities through STEM career learning and sustainable education gardens (STEM Plus is Science, Technology, Engineering, Math + Arts + Entrepreneurship) called 'STEM Plus,' and social work support (Brighter Futures).
