About the position

HII Mission Technologies Division is seeking a Technical Editor/Writer Lead to support a large Operations and Maintenance Contract within Mission Technologies. This position will be based at a global Army training site in Orlando, FL, and is contingent upon contract award. The Technical Editor/Writer Lead will play a crucial role in producing and overseeing the development of high-quality documentation that supports project execution and compliance. This includes performing annual maintenance and updates to the Government's Library, ensuring that all content is clear, well-structured, and search-friendly. The role also involves identifying and preparing documentation for business proprietary or sensitive data for government review, particularly for requests to exclude certain information from the Government Library. In addition to library maintenance, the Technical Editor/Writer Lead will create and modify user manuals and guidelines related to inventory and accountability management systems. They will generate coherent and detailed reports that encompass equipment loans, operational readiness, and utilization, which are essential for transparency and facilitating operational decisions. The Technical Editor/Writer Lead is responsible for ensuring that all documents are prepared in accordance with organizational and federal guidelines and are delivered to the appropriate parties in a timely manner. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Produces and oversees the development of high-quality documentation that supports project execution and compliance.
  • Performs annual maintenance and updates to the Government's Library, preparing clear, well-structured, search-friendly content.
  • Identifies and prepares documentation for business proprietary or sensitive data for government review for requests to exclude from the Government Library.
  • Creates and modifies user manuals and guidelines to inventory and accountability management system.
  • Generates coherent and detailed reports encompassing EOH, equipment loans, operational readiness, and utilization to support transparency and facilitate operational decisions.
  • Ensures all documents are prepared following organizational and federal guidelines and delivered to the appropriate parties.

Requirements

  • 10 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 8 years relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.
