About the position

The WWM Inspection Technician plays a crucial role in the administration of the IP Program and the sewer line inspections conducted through the Restaurant Liaison Program. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with local sewer ordinances and educating new restaurants about the Extra Strength Surcharge (ESS) Program. The technician will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of sewer lines, identifying any issues, and ensuring that all regulations are adhered to. This role requires a strong understanding of the sewer ordinance, particularly Chapter 22, and the ability to communicate effectively with restaurant owners and staff to promote compliance and understanding of the programs in place. In addition to inspections, the WWM Inspection Technician will be tasked with documenting findings, preparing reports, and collaborating with other departments to address any violations or concerns that arise during inspections. The technician will also be involved in outreach efforts to educate the community about the importance of proper sewer management and the implications of the ESS Program. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of the sewer system. The ideal candidate will have a background in environmental science, civil engineering, or a related field, along with experience in inspection or regulatory compliance. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
