About the position
The X-Ray Tech - Medical Assistant position at MD Now involves providing essential patient care and performing various medical tasks, including taking vital signs, conducting EKGs, and administering injections. The role is integral to the patient experience, ensuring that care is delivered with compassion and efficiency in a fast-paced urgent care environment.
Responsibilities
- Take vital signs and collect lab specimens.
- Perform EKGs and administer IM injections.
- Conduct all x-ray/imaging services according to provider's orders.
- Update patient charts accordingly after procedures.
- Collect patient history and document in EHR appropriately.
- Apply splints, dressings, and bandages as needed.
- Assist with check-in/check-out processes, including auditing charts.
- Maintain records and logs on activities, including in-house lab work and drug screens.
- Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
Requirements
- 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting.
- Experience using an EHR system.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program.
- Radiological Technologist (RT) or Basic X-ray Machine Operator (BMXO / BMO) license required in state of residency.
- Current certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred.
- Current BLS Certification required within 30 days of start.
Nice-to-haves
- Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.
- Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.
