About the position

The Radiology Technologist at Select Specialty Hospital is responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to chronically and critically ill patients. This per diem position requires the technologist to prepare patients for procedures, operate imaging equipment, and ensure accurate scheduling and requisition completion. The role emphasizes patient care, teamwork, and problem-solving in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
  • Operate imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue.
  • Complete necessary requisitions for ordered exams in a timely manner and schedule all exams accurately.
  • Perform diagnostic Radiographic, Fluoroscopic, and CT exams on patients, including portable equipment.
  • Inject IV contrast media as needed during procedures.
  • Identify and diagnose mechanical and electronic equipment failures related to radiographic machines and processors.
  • Explain procedures to patients and address any questions they may have.
  • Transport patients to and from the department as required.
  • Order necessary supplies and maintain par levels.
  • Attend required in-services and orientations.
  • Collaborate with floor staff to facilitate excellent patient care.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
  • Current state license as required.
  • ARRT or CMRT certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
  • Current with Continuing Education in all fields of licensure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience operating facility-specific equipment.
