The Radiologic Technologist position involves performing a variety of radiologic procedures using standard, portable, and specialized x-ray equipment. The role is essential in applying prescribed ionizing radiation to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients' illnesses or injuries. The position requires adherence to established procedures and supervision, ensuring safety and effectiveness in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of radiologic procedures using standard, portable, and specialized x-ray equipment.
  • Apply prescribed ionizing radiation to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Follow established procedures under supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with patients of all age levels served within the scope of the position.

Requirements

  • 12 weeks on-the-job training and orientation.
  • Command of verbal and written English.
  • Positive interpersonal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology with an associate degree in Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT Registration, Massachusetts licensure, and CPR certification required.

Nice-to-haves

  • One to five years as a radiologic technologist.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull without restriction.
  • Ability to use proper body mechanics.
  • Ability to work extra hours, including rotations.
  • Ability to answer telephone.
