The X-Ray Technician/Medical Assistant (MA) plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. The technician hands instruments and materials to the doctor as directed, cleans and sterilizes instruments, and manages the inventory and ordering of medical supplies and materials. Additionally, they operate x-ray, electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests, schedule patients for tests, and perform routine laboratory tests. The technician is also responsible for giving injections or treatments and maintaining accurate office and patient records by entering data into the computer system. This position requires adherence to standards of business conduct and compliance, ensuring that all tasks are performed with professionalism and care. The working conditions are center-based, requiring the technician to work in a clinical setting with a moderate noise level and potential exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for extended periods, perform manual dexterity tasks related to clinical requirements, and lift up to 50 lbs is essential for this role.
