About the position
The XL Enrichment Specialist for Baile Folklorico is responsible for developing and leading enrichment classes for high school students, focusing on cultural dance. This role involves creating engaging programming that adheres to ProYouth curriculum guidelines and youth development principles, ensuring a positive and educational experience for participants.
Responsibilities
- Create and promote weekly Baile Folklorico classes for high school aged youth.
- Lead and facilitate classes in a culturally relevant manner.
- Ensure programming aligns with ProYouth curriculum guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Site Director and program team to determine class content and structure.
- Engage students in a positive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, or a High School diploma with AA/AS/48 completed College Units or equivalent NCLB Paraprofessional Certification.
- One to two years of experience in a specialized skill related to Baile Folklorico.
- A minimum of two years of experience working with high school aged youth.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in teaching or leading dance classes.
- Knowledge of youth development principles.
