About the position

The X-Ray & Medical Technologist plays a crucial role in providing high-quality imaging services while ensuring patient care and safety. This position involves taking X-ray images, documenting encounters in the EMR, and assisting physicians with medical procedures. The technologist is responsible for maintaining equipment, facilitating diagnostic tests, and providing compassionate care to patients in a fast-paced urgent care environment.

Responsibilities

• Take high-quality X-ray images following CityMD X-ray protocol efficiently and accurately.
• Document encounters in the EMR in a timely manner.
• Perform common X-ray studies within suggested time frames.
• Use internal X-ray and care coordination software for documentation and communication.
• Facilitate necessary diagnostic tests and referrals to medical specialists.
• Assist physicians with medical procedures within the Scribe scope of practice.
• Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians under physician guidance.
• Assist licensed practitioners with CLIA waived tests and EKGs.
• Maintain an accurate QA log book and track materials for imaging supplies.
• Provide compassionate care to patients and assist Medical Assistants when needed.
• Help train and acclimate new hire X-ray techs and scribes.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited X-ray Technologist program.
• 4-6 months experience as an X-ray Technologist.
• Ability to explain, process, and position patients for X-rays.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Functional knowledge of various computer systems.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.

• Bilingual language skills preferred based on site location.
