About the position

The Creative Director of the Young Adult Initiative at Denver Seminary is a pivotal role that focuses on developing the vision, strategy, and content for the initiative aimed at supporting young adults within congregations. This position is integral to executing the Lilly grant-funded project, which seeks to address the needs of young adults as identified in the initiative's second phase. The Creative Director will work closely with Administrative Directors to ensure that the objectives of the grant are met, ultimately contributing to the mission of equipping congregations to attract, disciple, retain, and mobilize young adults as active participants in their communities. Key responsibilities include fulfilling the obligations of the second phase of the Young Adult Initiative, supervising the staff involved, and designing and conducting thorough research to inform the initiative's strategies. The Creative Director will also be responsible for creating and producing educational content, which may encompass a variety of formats such as podcasts, blog posts, social media content, and webinars. Additionally, the role involves organizing and executing an annual YAI conference and producing a comprehensive playbook based on research findings to assist congregations in their efforts to engage young adults effectively. This position requires a strong commitment to the mission of Denver Seminary, which is to prepare individuals to engage the world with the Gospel's redemptive power. The Creative Director will play a crucial role in building positive awareness of the Seminary and educating congregations on best practices for working with young adults and young adult ministers.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills the obligations of the phase two of the Young Adult Initiative
  • Supervises the staff supporting the Young Adult Initiative
  • Designs and conducts sound research
  • Designs and produces educational content with the YAI staff, including podcasts, blog posts, social media presence, and webinars
  • Creates and executes an annual YAI conference
  • Produces a playbook for congregations to attract, disciple, retain, and mobilize young adults and young adult ministers based on research findings

Requirements

  • Earned graduate degree; doctoral degree preferred
  • Ability to communicate well in writing and speech
  • Ability to design and execute sound research
  • Experience managing a budget
  • Strong networking abilities
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent time and project management skills
