The Yard Attendant at IAA, an RB Global Inc. Company, plays a crucial role in the auction industry by ensuring the smooth operation of vehicle check-ins and maintenance. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working outdoors and has a passion for cars. The Yard Attendant is responsible for vehicle cleaning, safe operation of vehicles, and assisting visitors, all while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Record and file information on vehicles assigned to the facility during check-in.
• Thoroughly clean vehicles to enhance their appearance and value at auction.
• Safely operate passenger vehicles, moving them around the facility and participating in drive-through auctions.
• Recover keys, license plates, and other items from vehicles and store them appropriately.
• Assist visitors by providing guidance and directing them to the appropriate personnel for further assistance.
• Train on the job in forklift and loader operation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to apply security, maintenance, and safety procedures to protect company and customer assets.
• Ability to use personal protective equipment (safety gloves, safety glasses).
• Ability to recognize and respond to potentially unsafe situations.
• Ability to follow industry-specific regulations related to hazardous materials handling.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs constantly, 50 lbs frequently, and over 100 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and crawling.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic automotive repair skills or experience in the rental or construction area.
