About the position

The Yard Attendant at SeAH Steel USA plays a crucial role in assisting with the transfer of pipe materials through various operational stages while ensuring safety and compliance with plant policies. This entry-level position involves working closely with the yard supervisor and requires effective communication and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Follow all PPE policies and safety rules as safety is the number one priority.
• Report to the yard lead for a briefing on daily tasks.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and verification of material.
• Maintain good housekeeping ethics, ensuring the work area is free of debris.
• Assist in transfer and production operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
• Follow forklift operator's instructions during transfers and housekeeping operations.
• Assist in the verification of all loading and unloading of material for quality assurance.
• Help with inventory control for verification of counts and material.
• Route trucks to loading and unloading destinations within the yard.
• Complete loading and unloading documentation when required.
• Assist in racking of material per instruction.
• Communicate any problems with material, racks, or trucks to the yard lead.
• Assist at processing inbound and outbound racks when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• At least 6 months' experience or on-the-job training.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and yard instruments is a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
