About the position
The Yard Coordinator is responsible for organizing and updating the yard on a daily basis, ensuring that all materials needed for the yard and facility are received as ordered. This role involves managing the flow of trailers and containers in and out of the yard, assisting the warehouse team, and maintaining the yard layout according to company expectations. The position operates on a weekend shift from Friday to Sunday, 6:00 am to 6:30 pm.
Responsibilities
- Gate trailers and containers in and out of the yard using the company software system.
- Walk the yard twice daily to ensure its accuracy.
- Assist warehouse team in routing and shipping of materials with outbound equipment.
- Work with the dispatch team to ensure that trailer transfers from building to building occur without fail.
- Conduct equipment inventory and verification.
- Perform container and chassis inspections and cleaning.
- Verify container pool.
- Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment (trailers, containers).
- Ensure yard layout is maintained per company expectations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
- Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft applications.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Must be a team player with the ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) rules and regulations.
