About the position
The Yard Coordinator at General Equipment & Supplies, Inc. is responsible for supporting the Parts, Sales, and Service departments by managing the coordination of machines and equipment as they are received and shipped in and out of the yard. This role involves ensuring accurate documentation, operating heavy equipment, and maintaining an organized yard environment.
Responsibilities
- Accurate and timely completion of equipment shipping and receiving records (EMM's)
- Take in/out pictures of equipment/attachments and submit them to appropriate personnel
- Verify the S/N's of equipment and attachments and ensure information is documented accurately
- Complete damage inspections of all equipment entering the yard
- Operate, load, and unload heavy construction equipment and attachments in a safe manner
- Organize equipment for yard display
- Maintain a clean and organized yard
- Complete all paperwork required for jobs and submit to the appropriate people in a timely manner
- Ship and receive parts and/or equipment and record all incoming parts, units, components, and assemblies into inventory
- Pull and stage parts for work orders
- Stock shelves as needed and organize parts locations balancing inventory control with work efficiencies
- Communicate and coordinate with other branches on all transfers of parts and/or equipment
- Perform other additional duties as directed by management
Requirements
- Previous experience with the operation of heavy equipment or the ability to learn
- Mechanical knowledge is preferred
- Requires basic computer skills
- Obtains or is willing to obtain a CDL License
