About the position

The Yard Driver position at DHL Supply Chain involves operating switching equipment, tractors, and straight trucks to transport goods within the yard. The role is essential for maintaining efficient loading and unloading operations while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will work part-time on weekends, contributing to a dynamic team environment and supporting the overall logistics operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive switching equipment, tractors, and straight trucks to transport goods or equipment to and from designated locations.
• Maintain safe and efficient dock operations by switching trailers and equipment to and from docks.
• Load and unload trucks, verifying the count and condition of products.
• Report overages, shortages, and damages during loading and unloading.
• Perform daily yard checks and maintain accurate records and logs as required by policies and procedures.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water, notifying supervision of any repair needs.
• Refuel vehicles on site and document locations and condition of equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of one year verifiable experience driving, switching or commercial tractor.
