About the position
The Commercial Yard Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the yard, ensuring efficient inventory tracking, material staging, and handling of inbound and outbound deliveries. This role is crucial for maintaining the commercial landscape zone (LZ) and coordinating with various teams to ensure the quality and accuracy of materials delivered for projects. The position emphasizes the importance of organization, communication, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the Commercial LZ area including roads, grass, trash, debris, and materials.
- Coordinate loading trailers for field teams as needed.
- Coordinate dumpster pulls as needed.
- Coordinate with Nursery for live goods inbound deliveries and staging of plant materials.
- Responsible for live goods marking/tagging and material list accuracy.
- Coordinate with Nursery on mulch deliveries and all hard good deliveries.
- Ensure deliveries are in accordance with delivery slips and quality of goods being delivered.
- Check-in/check-out inventory with Project Managers/Field Managers.
- Perform outbound deliveries as needed.
- Keep fleet and equipment organized and coordinate repairs with in-house mechanics.
Requirements
- Valid CDL license or ability to attain one.
- Experience operating skid steer and forklift.
- Clean driving record.
- Experience in trucking and hauling.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in inventory tracking systems.
- Knowledge of landscaping materials and processes.
