About the position

The Yard Operations Associate plays a crucial role in the Operations department of a leading logistics company, focusing on efficient yard operations. This position involves operating various equipment, managing inventory, and ensuring safety and quality control in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or multiple yards, including light/heavy duty equipment.
• Load and unload products, executing standard receiving and shipping processes.
• Provide spotting duties for equipment operators and perform rigging and cribbing of materials.
• Maintain inventory in the yard and conduct quality control duties.
• Perform warehouse duties including inventory management, picking/shipping orders, and receiving products.
• Inspect all equipment used daily and maintain a safe work environment by following safety guidelines.
• Receive, count, and record shipment data into the system, matching packing list information to actual packed merchandise.
• Prepare packages/merchandise for storage and record receiving data using a computer.
• Pack, unpack, and mark stock items using identification tags or other labeling equipment.
• Deliver products, supplies, and equipment to designated areas as needed.

Requirements

• Equipment operations, warehouse, and customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and perform rigging and cribbing of materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate paperwork for record keeping purposes.
• Ability to maintain excellent housekeeping practices to promote a safe and clean working environment.
• Ability to frequently interact with customers and maintain a high level of customer service.
