About the position

The Yard Receiver/Driver at HP Fairfield is responsible for maintaining an organized and clean yard, assisting with material handling, and ensuring timely customer deliveries. This role involves operating heavy machinery, verifying incoming materials, and driving a truck for transportation of goods within Maine and New Hampshire.

Responsibilities

• Keeps yard organized and clean using forklift, crane, and/or boom truck.
• Cleans snow and debris from yard and parking area.
• Mows lawn, trims shrubbery, etc. as necessary to upkeep grounds.
• Verifies specifications of incoming materials or parts with packing list or documentation.
• Unloads freight and inspects material packaging for damage.
• Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Conveys material to or from storage or work sites using hand truck or dolly.
• Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination using crane or hoist.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks on cases, containers, etc.
• Drives truck with capacity over 26,000 lbs to transport materials to specified destinations.
• Verifies load against shipping papers and maintains truck log according to regulations.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies to ensure safety and maintenance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CDL license and fork truck experience.
• Ability to perform frequent changes of tasks involving different aptitudes and physical demands.
• Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
• Commitment to teamwork.
