About the position

The Yard Specialist at G&C Food Distributors is responsible for managing the fleet of trucks and trailers at the facility. This role involves operating primarily out of the truck yard, performing inspections, maintenance, and ensuring the proper placement of equipment. The position offers an opportunity to earn a CDL A license while contributing to the efficient operation of the distribution process.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily yard equipment inventory at the start of each shift.
• Transport equipment to and from maintenance garages as needed.
• Update dispatch board in Operations as needed.
• Clean trailers internally before loading of product.
• Change DEF as needed.
• Empty garbage bin near fuel station as needed.
• Perform other functions as needed or directed by Transportation Management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• FL CDL-A preferred.
