About the position

Thomas Oilfield Services, LLC is seeking a Yard Technician to join our team in Midland, TX. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the efficient flow of equipment and vehicles within our operations. Reporting directly to the West Texas Operations Manager, the Yard Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure our equipment is well-maintained and ready for use. The ideal candidate will assist with the maintenance schedule compliance for equipment, trucks, and trailers, and will conduct inspections of incoming and outgoing equipment to ensure proper maintenance and readiness for field operations. In this role, the Yard Technician will ensure that outgoing tanks and premix tanks are compliant and ready for field operation. The technician will also be responsible for properly completing and maintaining all job-related documents and paperwork. Additionally, the technician will run parts to or from offsite locations as required to expedite service calls. A key aspect of this position is identifying workflow inefficiencies and suggesting improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Clear and professional communication with employees and customers is essential to complete assigned work effectively. The Yard Technician will also maintain company and customer work areas to TOS standards of cleanliness and orderliness, while observing all company and customer-specific safety and policy regulations. Other related duties and general maintenance tasks may be assigned by the Operations Manager as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with equipment, truck, and trailer maintenance schedule compliance.
  • Inspect incoming & outgoing equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and readiness for use.
  • Ensure outgoing tanks and premix tanks are compliant & ready for field operation.
  • Properly complete and maintain job-related documents/paperwork.
  • Run parts to or from offsite locations as required to expedite service calls.
  • Identify work-flow inefficiencies in areas of responsibility and suggest improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with employees and customers as needed to complete assigned work.
  • Maintain company and customer work areas to TOS standards of cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Observe all company and customer-specific safety and policy regulations.
  • Perform other related duties and general maintenance as required and assigned by Ops Manager.

Requirements

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • English language proficiency.
  • Able to work Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with additional hours/OT as needed.
  • Requires repeated heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs. and working outside in variable weather conditions.
  • Self-starter with a 'can-do' disposition and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong across-level communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Able to successfully complete all required pre-hire tests and verifications to include pre-employment physical, drug testing, criminal background check and MVR review.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in oil/gas, trucking, manufacturing or another heavy-industrial environment.
  • Welding certification/experience.
  • Forklift Operator certification/experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
