About the position

At WillScot Mobile Mini, the Yard Worker plays a crucial role in ensuring that our Mobile Mini Storage Units and Offices are cleaned, repaired, and maintained in optimal working condition for rental purposes. This position involves a variety of generalized labor tasks that are essential for the upkeep of our facilities. The Yard Worker will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs, which may include cleaning, painting, and minor electrical and welding work. The role requires a hands-on approach to ensure that all units are ready for customer use, which may also involve working on-site at customer locations when necessary. The Yard Worker will utilize various tools and equipment, including mops, painting materials, drywall putty, welders, floor cleaners, and maintenance tools. The position also involves operating a gas-powered forklift to load and unload containers from trucks and trailers. Regular attendance is essential to fulfill the job's responsibilities, and the Yard Worker will be expected to document completed work and assess whether units require further repairs or are ready for rental. In addition to technical skills, the Yard Worker must maintain an organized and safe work environment, ensuring that supplies are replenished and the yard is free of debris and hazards. This role is vital to the overall success of our operations, as it directly impacts customer satisfaction and the efficiency of our rental services.

Responsibilities

• Clean, repair, and ensure all Mobile Mini Storage Units and Offices are in working condition and ready to be rented.
• Sweep and hose out storage units and offices.
• Check A/C units if applicable.
• Replace tile or epoxy flooring as needed.
• Repair drywall holes and clean windows, blinds, doors, floors, and walls.
• Replace light bulbs, locks, blinds, door handles, etc.
• Perform painting tasks as required.
• Conduct minor welding and electrical repairs.
• Document work completed and verify units for further repairs or readiness for rental.
• Ensure supplies are replenished and the yard is organized and free of debris and hazards.
• Operate the forklift to load and unload containers from trucks and trailers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of experience with general labor and repairs.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Current Driver's License is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with electrical hand tools preferred.
