About the position

The primary focus of the Yard Worker position at WillScot is to ensure that the Storage Units and Offices are cleaned, repaired, and maintained in working condition so they can be rented out. This role involves performing a variety of generalized labor tasks that are essential for the upkeep of the units. The Yard Worker will be responsible for cleaning and repairing units both in the yard and at customer sites, ensuring that all facilities meet the company's standards for rental readiness. This includes sweeping and hosing out units, checking air conditioning systems, replacing flooring, repairing drywall, cleaning windows and doors, and performing minor electrical and welding tasks. The worker will also document completed work, indicating whether units are ready for rent or require further repairs. Additionally, the Yard Worker will ensure that supplies are replenished and that the yard is organized and free of debris and hazards. Operating a forklift to load and unload containers may also be part of the job responsibilities. Regular attendance is required to fulfill the essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities

• Clean, repair, and ensure all Storage Units and Offices are in working condition and ready to be rented.
• Sweep and hose out units as needed.
• Check air conditioning systems if applicable.
• Replace tile or epoxy flooring in units.
• Repair drywall holes and clean windows, blinds, doors, floors, and walls.
• Replace light bulbs, locks, blinds, door handles, etc.
• Paint units as required.
• Perform minor welding and electrical repairs.
• Document work completed and verify units for further repairs or readiness for rent.
• Ensure supplies are replenished and the yard is organized and free of debris and hazards.
• Operate a forklift to load and unload containers from trucks and trailers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of experience with general labor and repairs.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Current Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with electrical hand tools preferred.
