About the position

The YES Center Call Center Specialist at the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA is responsible for managing inbound and outbound calls to enhance the member experience and support Family Center operations. This role involves assisting with inquiries, membership sales, program registrations, and ensuring member satisfaction. The specialist will work in a dynamic environment with extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Receive inbound calls and perform outbound calls to support Family Center operations.
  • Assist members with general inquiries regarding membership, programs, and events.
  • Follow standard operating procedures to optimally support members and staff.
  • Provide excellent customer service to enhance the YMCA experience for guests and members.
  • Report membership or program concerns to the supervisor.
  • Perform outbound calls to increase program fulfillment and membership sales when launched.
  • Participate in staff meetings and assist with other projects as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and relate effectively to diverse groups.
  • Previous customer service or sales experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of computers and ability to learn software applications.
  • Must obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen Administration certifications within 30 days of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales or related fields.
  • Familiarity with YMCA membership operating systems.
