About the position
The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor at Yancey Bros. Co. is responsible for overseeing all logistics operations related to shipping and receiving. This role involves directing the daily activities of the team, ensuring efficient material handling, and maintaining communication with various departments to support production needs. The supervisor plays a crucial role in problem-solving and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of shipping and receiving, and material delivery for production groups.
- Handle issues arising in shipping and receiving, including material shortages and communication with operations and purchasing.
- Ensure materials are loaded and unloaded correctly and safely.
- Verify that orders being shipped out contain the correct materials.
- Collaborate with Materials, Operations and Solutions Manager, Coordinators, Production Supervisors, Project Managers, Sales Department, and Shipping/Receiving team members.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory of the Shipping/Receiving area to support production requirements.
- Coordinate with the team on pickups and delivery of materials.
- Provide a safe and respectful workplace.
- Ensure proper storage of engines exposed to weather.
Requirements
- Completion of a high school diploma and/or GED required.
- Completion of a four-year college or university preferred.
- Minimum two years in a design role.
- Previous experience and demonstrated success in team leadership and leader development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Advanced problem-solving capabilities.
- Detailed understanding of financial and operational metrics.
