About the position

The After-School Site Director is responsible for managing and supervising the YMCA after school program site, ensuring the safety and development of all participants. This role involves managing staff, maintaining relationships with parents and school staff, and creating a positive environment aligned with the YMCA's mission and values. The Site Director will oversee program operations, activity scheduling, and compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the overall after-school program site.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all program participants.
  • Create a positive and engaging environment for children.
  • Maintain positive relationships with parents, school staff, and the community.
  • Oversee activity scheduling and weekly lesson plan creation.
  • Serve as the first contact for licensing representatives during inspections.
  • Report any incidents or suspected child abuse injuries promptly.
  • Attend all scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Assist with drills for emergency procedures and implement them as needed.

Requirements

  • Must qualify for state license for childcare.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • High School Degree/G.E.D. or higher required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an after-school program or 2 years in licensed childcare with relevant training.
  • Minimum of 6 months in a supervisory role.
  • Must complete First Aid, CPR, and other necessary training within 30 days.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and carry for at least 40 yards.
  • Auditory and/or visual awareness of children's activities.
