About the position

The YMCA Y Scholars Program is seeking part-time Group Leaders to work with youth in grades K-8 for the 2024-2025 school year. This role involves supervising students, planning and leading daily activities, and collaborating with the Site Coordinator to create a safe and enriching learning environment. Group Leaders will work primarily in the afternoons, providing opportunities for students to develop leadership skills and healthy habits.

Responsibilities

• Supervise groups of 15-20 students
• Plan lessons and lead daily activities (academic, creative, and physical)
• Record and track attendance
• Collaborate with team to create a clean and safe learning environment

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have completed 48 college units or passed the Instructional Aid (IA) Exam
• Pass DOJ/FBI criminal background check
• Have CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days of hire
