About the position
The position involves providing short-term shelter care services for unaccompanied children at America's ports of entry, focusing on delivering high-quality, trauma-informed residential and educational services. The role aims to support the social, emotional, and physical health of these children, ensuring they receive necessary medical care and are prepared for a successful discharge into the care of their family sponsors.
Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed residential and educational services for unaccompanied children.
- Ensure children receive immediate physical healthcare, including pediatric, dental, and nutritional support.
- Support the social and emotional health of children in care.
- Perform emergency behavioral intervention (EBI) when necessary.
- Maintain compliance with immunization requirements as per contract specifications.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of 1 year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents.
- Associates degree with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience is highly preferred.
- Minimum age of 21 years or older.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
- Possess and maintain a current valid Driver's License meeting company standards of insurability.
- Proficiency with computers, common office equipment, and MS Office products.
- Ability to pass a medical examination to determine fitness for caring for clients.
