About the position

The Youth Career Coach is responsible for providing quality case management services to approximately 50 at-risk youth, guiding them towards self-sufficiency through the development and execution of action plans that include GED attainment, credentialing, post-secondary education, and employment opportunities. This role involves direct interaction with youth, employers, and community organizations to facilitate job placements and support services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of 45 to 50 youth.
• Conduct interviews to assess service needs and complete the intake process.
• Complete weekly reports on hires, placements, retention, and GED attendance.
• Perform street/home/training provider/employment visits to participants.
• Conduct follow-ups with youth and employers after placements.
• Maintain accurate case files for all participants.
• Collaborate with public and private agencies to provide services to students and families.
• Match participants to job openings and assist with job development.
• Provide guidance and counseling for career path decisions.
• Implement Life Skills workshops to build self-esteem in participants.
• Coordinate field trips and leadership opportunities for youth.
• Evaluate current procedures for program improvement.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in a related field or two years of related work experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Access to a vehicle and valid Illinois driver's license.
• Willingness to travel locally.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
