About the position
The Youth Case Manager at Pawnee Mental Health Services is responsible for assessing the needs of children with severe emotional disturbances and developing plans to enhance their functioning. This role involves coordinating treatment services with various community organizations and requires the ability to work independently while managing a flexible schedule. The position emphasizes building relationships with clients and their families, providing resources, and ensuring effective communication throughout the treatment process.
Responsibilities
- Assess the needs of children with severe emotional disturbances.
- Develop plans to enhance children's functioning.
- Coordinate treatment by establishing services with community organizations.
- Work with the treatment team to identify treatment goals and strategies.
- Build relationships with clients and their families to help them make informed choices.
- Document plans and updates in the child's health record.
- Provide resources and education to families about mental illness.
- Assist families in maintaining necessary benefits for rehabilitation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a human services field or equivalent work experience.
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
- Automobile liability insurance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Nice-to-haves
