About the position
The Youth Development Professional at Chicopee Woods Elementary is responsible for planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating activities within various program areas aimed at promoting youth development. This part-time role focuses on creating a supportive environment for children, ensuring their safety, and facilitating their success through structured programs.
Responsibilities
- Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
- Promote and stimulate program participation among youth.
- Recruit new members and assist in their orientation process.
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
- Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities as directed.
- Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure safety and quality.
- Prepare reports as directed by supervisors.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings to ensure a productive work environment.
- Engage in special programs and events as required.
- May be required to drive the Club van.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience working with children.
- Knowledge of youth development principles.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to deal with the public effectively.
- Capability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Valid State Driver's License.
