About the position

The Youth & Family Intervention Specialist (Behavioral Health) is responsible for providing evidence-based intervention training and education to parents, communities, schools, and service providers to promote child wellness. This role involves analyzing the needs of families and communities, developing training programs, and collaborating with various organizations to ensure effective service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Stay current with new evidence-based intervention research and practices.
  • Analyze needs of families and communities to provide appropriate evidence-based resources.
  • Develop and conduct training, screenings, assessments, and presentations regarding evidence-based intervention and parenting skills.
  • Develop networks and collaborate with other Cherokee Nation programs and outside organizations.
  • Create formal referral pathways for services and make referrals to appropriate service providers.
  • Determine the suitability of various evidence-based interventions in multiple settings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university in Social Work, Child and Family Sciences, Child Development, Psychology, Community Health Education, Public Health, or Elementary Education; no substitutions.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • At least six (6) months experience in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving history that meets Cherokee Nation underwriting rating requirements.
  • Certification and training for any assessment that requires it to be administered and interpreted.
